Economic aspects of energy production on the base of wood of fast growing willow
Annotation
In accordance with prognosis to 2050 about 30% of energy demand in the world will be covered by means of bioenergy. One of the perspective sources of biofuel is fast growing willow production. One of the key problems that limit active introduction of energy crops is economic grounding. The article covers some economic calculation of willow biomass production fulfilled on the base of adaptive technology. The cost of willow wood obtained by means of direct harvesting and additional drying of biomass consist of 800-900 $/per year. Our accounts showed that about 30% is cost of fuel using for wood drying. In our further calculations we consider another technology with application of baler machines that let us dry biomass in the field. Application of this technology enables to decrease cost of willow wood production on 20-25%. It is necessary to increase size of plantation and use owned willow cutting for additional decreasing of cost.
