Working processes of low-speed machines in subcritical conditions with carbon dioxide
Annotation
The use of R744 in subcritical refrigeration cycles is considered. It is shown that existing problems with high discharge temperatures associated with a high adiabatic coefficient and heavy lines associated with high condensing pressures can be solved by using low-speed refrigeration compressors. The operating and design parameters of low-speed compressors lead to a significant reduction in the adiabatic coefficient, resulting in low compressor outlet temperatures. This, in turn, reduces the load on the condenser, allowing for a reduction in its heat transfer surface area or its elimination when operating at compressor outlet parameters close to saturation. The efficiency of the operating process also increases with the use of low-speed compressors, with the coefficient performance (COP) being increased by 60% compared to existing machines.
