Аннотация

The global web is evolving and developing continuously. One of the new trends is Semantic Web - a global web of structured machine-readable data operating on datasets. The article is dedicated to FOODpedia - a food dataset based on food ontology with an intention to interlink data with other datasets to produce an application that is to assist consumers in the supermarket. In this position paper we spot main approaches to dataset building and focus on data gathering and preparation as well as on research in dataset interlinking and propose ideas of how food ontology can be used for benefits of customers.
