Simulating the feeding process of a non-Newtonian fluid against a rigid barrier
Annotation
To design relevant process equipment it is necessary to calculate the time needed to fill the pan with dough. The formula presented shows that such calculation depends on the speed of liquid dough in the feeder pipe (V1). The steady isothermal flow of non-Newtonian fluid, i.e. dough, in the pipe is affected by the same forces as the conventional Newtonian fluids, plus the extra gravity of the batch of dough in the feeder’s pipe. This additional force is taken into account as a certain additional pressure.
