The article deals with mechanisms of changes in the conformational composition and spatial reorientation of organic thin film nanocomponents by laser radiation. Layer restructuring model due to the resonant photo excitation is suggested. Two stereoisomers and two aggregated forms are identified in the layers of polymethine molecules on a glass substrate. Each component can have two spatial orientations, differing in the angles of the optical transition dipole moment. Photo excitation causes irreversible change of layer orientation, and mutual transformation of layer nanocomponents.
