An air-cooling block preceding the compressor in an ammonia production unit
Annotation
To increase the capacity of air compressors in hot summertime days it is suggested to cool the air in an air-cooling block (ACB) before feeding the air into a compressor. A basic diagram is developed and presented. Calculations have been made to set up the design of ACB consisting of a steam-jet refrigerating machine, serving to generate cold temperatures, and a FAST ENGINEERING® heat exchanger of the radial-spiral type, serving as an air cooler.
