Geoinformational systems development concept of object-oriented information support

Annotation

The initial main purpose of the "traditional" model of data storage, implemented in SXF format, was preparation and printing of topographic maps for visual acceptability of cartographic materials. In other words, the format perfectly copes with simulation of paper topographic maps, practically offering nothing to modern automated systems, neither for spatial data exchange, nor for execution of estimated tasks. Object-oriented model of spatial data is addressed in this article — as a new, partly revolutionary, way of storing spatial data, aimed, first of all, at information support of applied tasks and processes of modeling in GIS due to ensuring the greatest possible compliance of a map object to the corresponding object in the real world.
