Yamal LNG: new risks and opportunities of Russian energy sector in the Arctic
Annotation
The question about the rational commercial usage of the Arctic by global energy and transport companies is long been necessary for future projects and programs. In the article the author has carried out the analyze of legal regulations of the Arctic zone on international and national levels, furthermore weaknesses and future developing directions are determined. Taking as an example Yamal LNG the author has considered shareholders and investors of the project, suppliers of basic technological equipment, and also existing featured of LNG market in the Asian-Pacific region, such as gas pricing and quality raw materials requirements. The author has analyzed ecological risks of the project, which have been systematized according to life cycle of LNG production. The submitted analyze follows take into account the scale of the environmental impact in order to achieve its minimization.
