An experimental study of nonlinear optical properties of potassium- aluminum-borate glasses with nanocrystals of CuCl and CuBr in the nanosecond range at 532 nm wavelength is done. It is shown that the nonlinear optical response is manifested as a loss of radiation, has a threshold and occurs in two ranges of laser pulse energy: 10-10…10-8 J and 10-4…10-2J. A comparison of the nonlinear characteristics of glasses with nanocrystals CuCl, CuBr is given and models explaining the observed effects are proposed.
