FORMATION OF SURFACE RELIEF UNDER FRICTION
Annotation
Experimental study of initial stage of abrasive processing of aluminum oxide single crystal demonstrates a cyclic variation in the surface relief. The amplitude-modulated process of surface roughness modification is shown to be characterized by carrier and modulation frequencies derivable from experimental data.
