Agroecological assessment of soil and conditions of the winter wheat crop formation in the North-West Black Sea region

Annotation

An adapted and modified A.M. Polevoj model of the impact assessment of agrometeorological conditions on the formation of crop yield applied to the winter wheat in North-West Black Sea region is used in the research. The parameters of the model and the impact of agroecological conditions on the winter wheat yield were defined. The evaluation of agroclimatic resources of the North-West Black Sea region in the period from 1980 to 2010 for agroecological productivity categories (potential, meteorologically possible, really possible and economic productivity) as well as the assessment of heavy metals’ soil contamination and its influence on the winter wheat yield were made. The optimal and permissible agroecological conditions of winter wheat growth in the North-West Black Sea region as well as the risks that can lead to lower yields and poor quality products and raw materials were defined. To conclude that the soils of the North-West Black Sea region (southern and conventional chernozem) are complied with the standards of agro-ecological conditions for agricultural crops cultivation.
