Environmental risk analysis in GIS based on fuzzy sets
Annotation
Approach to environmental risk assessment using methods of the theory of fuzzy sets in a GIS environment is discussed. A problem of soil contamination by heavy metals is analyzed. To represent the level of soil contamination by heavy metals and the corresponding threshold values are used fuzzy numbers. Comparison of these numbers allows to form the reliability index for each land parcels relatively to each pollutant. The possibility of the formation of the comprehensive evaluations on the basis of the indices for selected pollutants is presented. All algorithms to work with fuzzy sets are integrated into the GIS environment. Efficiency of the proposed method is confirmed by practical examples.
