In the article the retrospective analysis of group teaching evolution is presented. Its use inadequacy resulted in insufficient practical skills in group work and collaboration demonstrated by professionals in the spheres of production and service in the second part of the 20-th century. The group work competency is becoming even more important in information society. The authors discuss the interaction principles of group work formulated in modern management theory and set new trends in group teaching evolution which are characteristic of information society.
